Point of Sale (POS)
The
sales process:
The Panther POS
offers an Internet savvy, retail quality sales process for small or
large retailers and industrial distributors. It provides a complete
cash register solution, allowing cash, credit card, and check sales.
It's flexible and can handle deposits, trade-ins, gift certificates,
employee sales, no-tax sales, voids, item discounts, refunds, and more.

A unique feature
of the Panther POS is its ability to interrupt a sale in process, by
putting it on hold. In a small store environment where there may
be one cash register and multiple sales people, this feature can be
invaluable. The next time a customer can't make up their mind or wants
to go pick out another item mid-way through ringing them up, just put
the sale on hold. That immediately frees up the register for another
customer and salesperson. When the first customer is ready to finish,
the salesperson simply recalls the sale and completes the transaction.

Hardware
support:
POS
terminals can come in many shapes and sizes. Panther is able to use
a wide variety of terminals, but is particularly well suited to use
low-cost standard PC's or PC based POS terminals. Touch screens are
highly recommended. The software supports terminals on wireless and
wired networks. A particularly useful terminal is our wireless portable
touch screen pad.
Terminals can be
connected to a server located on-site, or can be part of a larger wide
area network connecting many sites, servers, and terminals through the
use of low cost DSL or Cable Modems. Low speed dial up connections can
be used under special circumstances.
Standard POS accessories
and peripheral devices are fully supported, such as cash drawers, bar-code
scanners, report printers, receipt printers, invoice printers, label
printers and bar-code printers.

Reporting:
Standard recurring
reports include daily sales reports, daily register reports, monthly
sales reports, and list reports by bank and credit card.
Non-recurring reports
include snapshot register reports, tax-exempt transaction reports with
tax ID numbers, and history reports from invoices and sales.
