Welcome to [UniPDF: PDF Converter, Scanner]. Our App provides PDF conversion, OCR, AI-powered document analysis (Chat with PDF), and document translation services. We prioritize the confidentiality of your files by adopting a "Local-First" architecture supplemented by real-time third-party AI models. We do not operate proprietary servers to persistently store your original documents.

Data Processing & Third-Party Services

To provide advanced AI capabilities, the App transmits encrypted data to specific third-party providers. All transmissions utilize TLS/SSL encryption and follow the "Process-and-Release" principle.

1.Document Conversion & OCR (Powered by TextIn & compdf)

2.AI Analysis, Chat, and Translation (Powered by Volcengine)

  • check_circle Features: Document summarization, AI-driven chat analysis, and cross-language translation.
  • check_circle Mechanism: When using AI features, text extracted from your document is encrypted and transmitted to the Doubao Large Model (Volcengine) for inference.

Local Storage & Privacy

  • Serverless Architecture: We do not maintain a central database. All documents, generated PDFs, and local AI chat histories are stored exclusively within your iOS device's App Sandbox.
  • Data Control: You retain 100% ownership of your data. Deleting the App will permanently erase all local documents and AI interaction data.

AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

  • Algorithmic Limitations: Content generated by AI (including chat responses and translations) is driven by the Doubao model. Despite its advanced nature, AI may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or "hallucinated" information.
  • Non-Professional Advice: AI results are for reference only and do not constitute professional, legal, or medical advice. We are not liable for any consequences resulting from reliance on AI-generated results.

iOS System Permissions

We adhere to the principle of Data Minimization:

  • Files & Folders: To access and save PDF documents.
  • Camera & Photos: To scan physical documents or convert images.
  • Face ID / Touch ID: For secure local App Lock authentication; we do not have access to raw biometric data.

Your Rights

As a user of a localized application, you have absolute control over your data:

  • Access & Portability: You can view, manage, or export your documents at any time using the iOS Share Sheet.
  • Withdrawal of Consent: You may revoke access to your Camera, Photos, or Files at any time via iOS Settings -> [UniPDF].
  • Right to Erasure: Since data is stored locally, deleting the App will immediately and permanently erase all documents and AI records stored in the sandbox. We cannot recover this data for you.

Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect app updates or legal changes:

  • Notification: Significant changes will be communicated via in-app pop-ups or version update notes.
  • Effectiveness: Revised terms are effective upon posting. Please review this page periodically.
  • Continued Use: Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
