[FastKey - Password Manager] (referred to as "we," "us," or "the App") is a privacy-first password management tool designed for iOS. Our core philosophy is built on a "Local-First" architecture. We do not operate any backend servers, and we do not collect, store, or have access to any of your passwords, account information, or sensitive data.
1. Zero-Knowledge Architecture
- check_circle No Server-Side Storage: We do not maintain any remote servers to store your database. All your data is stored exclusively on your iOS device in an encrypted format.
- check_circle Developer Inaccessibility: Because your data never leaves your device to our systems, we (the developers) have zero access to your information. Technically, it is impossible for us to provide your data to any third party, even if legally requested.
- check_circle Master Password Protection: Your Master Password is the only key to decrypt your local database. We do not store your Master Password anywhere. If you lose your Master Password, we cannot recover your data for you.
2. Data Storage and Encryption
- check_circle Industrial-Grade Encryption: All data (passwords, notes, credit card details, etc.) is encrypted using the AES-256 (Advanced Encryption Standard), the industry gold standard for data protection.
- check_circle App Sandbox: Your encrypted database is stored within the iOS App Sandbox, which prevents other applications from accessing your data.
- check_circle Optional iCloud Sync: If you enable the multi-device sync feature, your encrypted database is transmitted and stored via Apple’s iCloud. This process is handled directly between your device and Apple’s servers. We have no access to your iCloud account or the data stored therein.
3. iOS Permissions and Usage
To provide the core functionality of a password manager, we request the following permissions:
- check_circle Face ID / Touch ID (Biometrics): Used for secure and quick unlocking of the App. Note: We only call the official iOS biometric authentication APIs. The verification is performed within the device's Secure Enclave. We never have access to your actual fingerprint or facial image data.
- check_circle Auto-fill: With your explicit permission, the App can automatically fill in usernames and passwords in other apps or web browsers. This is triggered only upon your active confirmation.
- check_circle Clipboard Access: Used only when you manually tap "Copy Password" to facilitate the pasting of credentials.
4. Information We Collect (Minimalism)
We adhere to the principle of Data Minimization:
- check_circle What We DO NOT Collect: We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, passwords, browsing history, or any personally identifiable information (PII).
- check_circle Anonymous Telemetry (Optional): We may collect minimal, non-identifiable technical data (e.g., app crash reports or feature usage frequency) via Apple’s official App Analytics. This data is fully anonymized and cannot be linked back to you. You can opt out of this via iOS System Settings.
5. Third-Party Services
Apple Services: The App uses Apple’s In-App Purchase (IAP) system for subscriptions and iCloud for synchronization. All payments and sync logic are governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
No Third-Party Ads: We do not integrate any third-party advertising SDKs to ensure your behavior is not tracked by advertisers.
6. Your Rights and Control
Data Ownership: You retain 100% ownership and control over your password data.
Physical Deletion: Deleting the App from your device will physically erase all local encrypted data associated with it.
7. Security Disclaimer
While we employ advanced encryption technologies, the security of your data ultimately depends on the strength of your Master Password and the security of your device (e.g., your device passcode). We strongly recommend using a complex Master Password and keeping it in a safe place.
8. Updates to This Policy
We may tweak this policy as the App evolves. Check the "Last Updated" date at the top to stay informed. Continued use of the App means you accept these changes.
